چکیده
Evaluating the behavior of fruit width and length characters throughout pepper crop cycle is essential for researchers in decision-making aimed at developing appropriate management techniques harvesting fruits proper growth stages. The Nonlinear Mixed-Effect Models (NLME) method recommended to jointly model residuals entire database, including group effects, describe curves. This work compared four nonlinear equations (Gompertz, Logistic, Richards, von Bertalanffy) by groups (pepper bell pepper) genotypes’ growth. Of eight genotypes used, three were pepper, five pepper. For each, measured 10 periods. According fit-quality measures studied, best adjusting was Richards (Radj.2=0.9960), while width, it Logistic (Radj.2=0.9957). estimated random effects showed that asymptotic time inflection point presented a correlation 0.75, indicating positive association between these traits. however, this result different: −0.02. NLME adjustment allowed efficient prediction values characterization studied genotypes, proving be an longitudinal data.

Evaluation of Models to Describe Temporal Growth in Local Chickens of Ghana
The logistic, Gompertz, Richards and asymmetric logistic growth curve models were fitted to body weight data of local Ghanaian chickens and French SASSO T44 chickens. All four growth models provided good fit for each sex by genotype growth data with R2 values ranging from 86.7% to 96.7%. The rate constant parameter, k, ranged between 0.137 and 0.271 and were significantly different from zero fo...

In order to study the germination and growth of pepper seeds, a factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with three replications was conducted. The first factor was consisting of five cultivars of pepper (Marquiza, Cadia, California Wonder, California Wonder 310 and California Wonder 300) and the second factor was gibberellic acid with three levels (0 as control, 250 and 500...
متن کاملDirichlet Processes in Nonlinear Mixed Effects Models
Two efficient approaches are considered to deal with the difficulty in computing the intractable integrals when implementing Gibbs sampling in the nonlinear mixed effects model (NLMM) based on Dirichlet processes (DP). The first approach computes the Laplace's approximation to the integral for its high accuracy, low cost, and ease of implementation. The second approach uses the no-gaps algorith...

oil uptake is one of the most important aspects about product quality during frying. the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of temperature on oil content of final product and its perception using empirical models. therefore, potato stripes in specified size, after blanching were fried using a fryer equipped with thermo controller at 145, 160 and 175 º c for 60, 120, 180 and 240...
متن کاملMixed-effects Growth Curves in the Evaluation of Nellore Sires
Cattle breeding programmes need objective criteria in order to evaluate and subsequently improve production systems. This work uses a logistic growth curve model for evaluating sires based on their progeny weight measured repeatedly over time. The parameters of the curve are described as a linear function of fixed and random effects. A Bayesian approach is used for the estimation. Analysis of t...
